ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department detectives are hoping surveillance video holds clues to the theft of a trailer that was loaded with construction tools.

The trailer was stolen around 5:45 a.m. Monday from Cheltenham Construction Services in the 900 block of Konert Lake Drive near Fenton.

According to the company, the thieves broke a tongue lock and hooked up the trailer to an SUV and drove away. The vehicle the thieves were driving is believed to be a 2004-2007 Toyota Sequoia.

The stolen trailer was loaded with various power tools and hand tools. The total loss is estimated to be $7,000. The company said the loss of the tools is slowing work on some construction projects.

A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that can identify and locate the thieves. Anyone who recognizes the vehicle or knows anything about the crime is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department or Ryan Blankenship with Cheltenham Construction Services at 314-565-0385.
