(CNN/Meredith) – DC government is promoting a daily anti-HIV pill with a campaign that’s getting lots of online attention.
The video commercial, using images of a woman peeling a banana and then licking an ice cream cone, is being called racy by some. The images are followed by shots of people taking a blue pill.
The pill, PrEP, which stands for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis, is backed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The CDC says it’s more than 90% effective in preventing HIV for those who are HIV-negative.
DC Health & Wellness Center promotes the pill and campaign, saying," trust us, you're going to want to watch it twice."
