NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

It is said that children are the future, but the difficulty is helping them find their passions.

A St. Louis youth program is helping kids find that by way of their hands.

Building Futures opened its third space on Thursday.

The organization tries to inspire kids through hands on-designs, such as building dollhouses.

Organizers said it is about learning critical thinking.

“We wanted to provide a place where they can come and learn how fun the creative process is, coming up with many cycles of ideas,” said Gay Lorberbaum, co-founder and architect.

The new space is in Old North St. Louis, about a block from Crown Candy Kitchen.

Kids can attend free Saturday workshops. There are also afterschool clubs and summer camp programs.
