WILDWOOD, Mo (KMOV.com) -

Hidden Valley Ski Resort in Wildwood has had rumors of closing swirling around it for the past few months. After weeks of back-and-forth between the city and the resort’s owner, both sides seem to be moving towards a compromise.

Hidden Valley asked the City of Wildwood for permission to extend its hours and months of operation in order to stay open but Wildwood Planning and Zoning Commission voted against that proposal.

The resort also wanted to build four zip line tracks on the property. That proposal was approved by the city but with the condition that the zip line sites be moved farther from homes. The owner then withdrew the plan and threatened to shut down the resort at the end of this ski season.

Monday, the owner sent a letter to the city council asking them to reconsider the zip line proposal.

The proposal now heads to the Planning and Parks Committee for further consideration after last nights city council vote was unanimous. An announcement on that decision should come in the next few weeks.
