CRESTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Police are investigating an overnight break-in at a Crestwood gun store.

Three suspects forced their way into the Southern Armory on Watson Road around 2 a.m. Monday, smashing a window and making off with an undisclosed number of long guns.

Employees stocking shelves at nearby Harbor Freight Tools saw the break-in, and attempted to report the crime. When the burglars emerged from the store and saw the witnesses, they fired four shots in their direction. No one was injured.

Police believe the same trio hit Modern Weapon System in High Ridge about 30 minutes prior to the Crestwood burglary. In High Ridge they smashed the glass on the front door and made off with six shotguns and two rifles in what surveillance video shows was a 17-second heist.

With the latest burglaries, four gun stores have been hit in November. Two weeks before High Ridge and Crestwood were victimized, stores in Valley Park and Affton were burgled.

The ATF is investigating to see if all the thefts are connected to the same suspects, who wore gloves and masks during each crime.

No suspect descriptions have been released.
