ILLINOIS (KMOV.com) -

If you're out shopping on Black Friday, you may run into trouble when looking for a place to park. Because stores are so crowded, sometimes the only available parking spaces are handicapped spots, and you may be tempted to park there illegally.

However, law enforcement will be cracking down on this illegal parking.

This happens every year in Illinois, and this year is no different.

The Secretary of State's office has announced plans for a sting operation to catch those who illegally park in handicapped spaces.

Police will be checking parking spots at area malls and stores throughout Illinois.

The fine for parking in a handicapped parking space without a displayed card or license plate can be up to $350.

Drivers using a fake handicapped card could face a $600 fine and a six-month driver's license suspension.
