Rivalry Renewed: Mizzou, Illini announce four-year home & home series

The Missouri and Illinois football rivalry will make its return for the 2026 college football season. On September 26, 2026, Missouri will travel to Champaign, Illinois to take on the Fighting Illini for the first time in what will then be 16 years.

The series will be a home and home series that will happen from 2026-2029. Illinois will host in 2026 and 2028, while Missouri gets the games in 2027 and 2029. 

As mentioned, this will be the first time the teams will have met since 2010 which was played in St. Louis.  

Missouri and Illinois have met 24 times in football, with the Illini holding a 17-7 series advantage. Missouri won the last 6 straight in the series, including a 23-13 win during the rivalry's last game in 2010.
