ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Volunteers got to work this weekend preparing gifts for soldiers overseas.

“A Soldier’s Wish List” is a non-profit committed to fulfilling troops’ wishes while they are away from their families in combat areas.

Volunteers packaged nearly 2,000 gifts over the weekend.

Some students have been lending their hands to the cause for 11 years.

“They come two hours from Steeleville and they bring all these students. Some come and back after they graduate and they are awesome. We look forward to having them be a part of this,” said Julieann Najar with A Soldier’s Wish List.

The items packed this weekend will soon be on their way overseas, making the holidays a little brighter for those who serve our country.
