Students develop donation wagon train

ST. LOUIS ( -- Friday, students helped tackle hunger in their community.

Second, third, and sixth graders from The College School pulled a 'wagon train' of food donations to the Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Webster Groves.

The students donated more than 6,800 items, something they're happy to do year after year.

"It feels, you can feel that really warm feeling in yourself because you know that you're helping people in need. And just like five cans really make a difference, that really helps them,” said student Elizabeth Folkl.

The wagon train has been a tradition for three decades. Organizers at the church say this event brings in a third of their annual inventory every year.
