Police: Man fundraising at grocery store steals wallet from donating woman

AFFTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – Authorities are looking for a man who kept a woman’s wallet after she donated to his fundraising cause.

Police say a man was fundraising through candy sales near the entrance at the Shop ‘n Save located at 5780 South Lindbergh on Nov. 1.

A woman who donated money to his cause left her wallet there after completing her transaction. At 4:15 p.m. the man took the wallet and conceals it, police said.

Credit cards belonging to the victim were later used in unauthorized transactions.
