NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

A Florissant man was shot and killed while sitting in the back of a vehicle in north St. Louis Wednesday afternoon.

Randy Jones, 27, was found with a gunshot wound in the back of the vehicle in the 5800 block of Natural Bridge around 12:30 p.m. After police arrived, Jones was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, Jones was in a vehicle with three other people when someone inside a white vehicle fired gunshots towards their vehicle.

A second victim, a 22-year-old man, was dropped off at a hospital to be treated after being shot at the same time as Jones. That victim was reportedly uncooperative with the investigation and was booked by police on an outstanding warrant after being released from the hospital.

The two other people who were inside the vehicle at the time of the shooting have not been identified.

A worker from Eye Fashion Factory said customers were in the store receiving eye exams when they heard 20 to 30 shots fired.

The investigation is ongoing.
