WASHINGTON COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A teenager was accidentally shot by his father while hunting in Washington County Wednesday morning.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, When the father and 14-year-old exited their vehicle on privately-owned land near Richwoods to hunt deer, the father attempted to load his rifle but a bullet jammed. The gun discharged when the father attempted to clear the weapon. The round then traveled through the open cab of the vehicle, exiting a rear passenger door and hitting the 14-year-old in the leg.
The teenager was taken to a local hospital and then airlifted to a St. Louis hospital for further treatment of the non-life threatening wound.
The Missouri Conversation Department is assisting with the investigation.

A 41-year-old man was shot in St. Charles on Thursday night, after the victim of a car theft tracked him down, according to police.
