ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A north St. Louis family is furious after an SUV smashed into their home.

Home owner Phyllis Hicks says this has happening a handful of times and she's sick of it.

"They fly down the street like it's the Indianapolis Speedway," said Hicks.

Hicks says these type of incidents have occurred five times, a speeding car has hit her home near the intersection of Marcus and Lee Avenues.

"It sounded like a bomb going off actually. It was a sound we are familiar with two years ago," said Hicks. "Thanksgiving night, two young ladies were speeding and went up my driveway and went into bricks on either side of my front porch."

Bricks lay scattered from this massive hit Wednesday morning, Hicks and her sister were at home when the car struck the home.

Around 7 a.m., Skyzoom4 was over the crash at Marcus and Lee Avenue in the city’s Penrose neighborhood and saw an ambulance and fire truck on the scene.

Hicks says she hopes to install guard rails in front of her home so it doesn't happen again.

Police say the driver of the Maroon Nissan Murano ran off after the incident.
