ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- A man was killed and a woman was injured in a shooting in St. Louis early Monday afternoon. The shooting was caught on video.

Police said 21-year-old Leon Smith Jr. and an 18-year-old woman were shot at 14th and Salisbury, in St. Louis' Hyde Park neighborhood around 12:45 p.m.

According to a neighbor with surveillance video of the shooting, a car pulled up on the couple with two people inside. One person got out and began firing, appearing to target the man only.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and the woman was found shot in the leg. The neighbor said the video appears to show the car circling the block for a while before the shooting, and he believes the suspects were waiting for the victims.

Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting to call CrimeStoppers.

Editor's note: Fire department officials initially said a woman was killed in the shooting. St. Louis police then said a male was killed.
