SULLIVAN, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The St. Louis Archdiocese is investigating sexual abuse allegations against a now-retired priest.

Rev. Dennis B. Zacheis is accused of sexually abusing a minor in the late 1970s, according to the St. Louis Archdiocese.

Zacheis denies the allegations.

“In keeping with the Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People, an announcement about this allegation has been made in the archdiocesan newspaper, The St. Louis Review, and in the parishes where Father Zacheis served,” read a portion of the press release sent out by the Archdiocese.

Zacheis retired in 2010 following alleged irregularities in finances at St. Anthony’s in Sullivan, where he was a pastor.
