BRENTWOOD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A man has been charged in connection with a shooting that occurred on the Brentwood MetroLink platform.

On Tuesday, 21-year-old Brandon Thomas of the 500 block of Welsey Avenue was charged with one count of assault and one count of armed criminal action.

Police responded to a call about shots fired during an argument on the Brentwood MetroLink platform Sunday night.

Around 9:30 p.m., the man was standing on the platform, located in the 8390 block of Eager Road, when the suspect, whom he knew, approached him and the two began arguing over personal matters, according to the St. Louis County Police Department. During the argument, the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim once in the lower body.

When officers with the Brentwood Police Department arrived, they began rendering aid to the 26-year-old victim. The man was taken to the hospital for treatment of his non-life threatening wound.

The suspect left the scene before officers arrived.

The St. Louis County Police Department’s Bureau of Crimes Against Persons are investigating the shooting.
