ILLINOIS (KMOV.com) -

Two Illinois state troopers are credited with saving a woman's life.

They found her unconscious in her SUV with no sign of breathing or a pulse.

The first trooper on the scene started CPR and the second one ran to his car to get an automated external defibrillator.

They shocked her several times and got her heart started before the ambulance arrived.

"I just feel like I did my job, just protecting the people and helping them out," said Illinois State Trooper Eduardo Reyes.

The woman is still in the hospital but she is breathing on her own now.
