NORTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

One man was killed and another was injured during a shooting at a stoplight in North City Tuesday night.

Just after 8 p.m., a light blue SUV pulled up next to a black SUV at a red light at West Florissant and Taylor. People inside the light blue SUV opened fire at the black SUV, and the driver of the black SUV accelerated to escape the gunfire. The vehicle struck a guardrail.

The driver of the black SUV, 39-year-old Lawrence Jones, had gunshot wounds and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A 45-year-old man, who has not been identified, was also in the black SUV but was not injured.

An unidentified 62-year-old man, who was also stopped at the light, was shot in the leg. He was taken to the hospital and listed as stable.
