ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A group of local children is taking time out to relax from the constant battle of fighting cancer to enjoy some royal treatment.

Brooklyn Hedge, 5, was diagnosed with kidney cancer last October, she endured seven months of radiation and chemotherapy.

This week Brooklyn is celebrating being cancer-free by walking the runway.

“We’re going to dance and walk down the runway,” said Brooklyn.

The non-profit, Friends of Kids with Cancer, hosts an annual Fashion Show Fundraiser in which kids who are either cancer free or going through treatment walk the runway like they’re at the Academy Awards.

Auggie Powers, 4, is also taking part in the fashion show. Auggie was diagnosed with Leukemia on Christmas Day 2016.

His progression is good but Auggie still has almost three years left of treatments.

Cardinals' Manager Mike Matheny is a big supporter of the non-profit.

“Can’t even hold a candle to the things some of these kids have endured, it’s humbling and you’re appreciative,” said Matheny.
