Metro East school district employee accused of soliciting sex from a minor

EAST ST. LOUIS, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

An East St. Louis School District employee is accused of soliciting sex from a minor.

Dwan Prude, of Florissant, is charged with solicitation of a sexual act of a person under 18.

Police said Prude, who was a coach, solicited sex from a minor between December 2016 and February 2017. According to authorities, he worked for East St. Louis District 189 at the time.

Officials have not said if the victim was a student. 

The district later released a statement:

"Several months ago, Mr. Prude was relieved of his coaching duties and placed on administrative leave pending investigation, and the District is proceeding in handling this matter accordingly. Beyond that, the District does not comment on personnel matters."
