BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) – Belleville Police have 31-year-old Robert Warren III in custody for allegedly robbing a local grocery store.
On Oct. 30, 2017, around 10:45 a.m., police were called to the Shop N Save located at 4201 North Belt West about an aggravated robbery.
Employees and witnesses say a man wearing a blue jacket, black-hooded sweatshirt, and Halloween mask confronted employees at the Customer Service desk and demanded money from the registers.
Police say Warren then implied he had an explosive device. The suspect stole an undisclosed amount of money and fled the store.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Patrol officers patrolled the area and located Warren in the 4200 block of Shirley Dr.
On Nov 1, St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged Warren with two counts of Aggravated Robbery.
Warren’s bond is set at $30,000.
