TROY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A registered sex offender is being charged with two counts of aggravated sexual assault after two hair salon employees told police they were inappropriately touched.

On Oct. 25, 2017, police were dispatched to the 100 block of Community State Bank about a man who had been inappropriately touching women employed at a local salon.

The salon manager told authorities she was familiar with a customer identified as Verus Alan Overkamp and was advised on several occasions Overkamp had made stylists feel uncomfortable.

On two separate occasions, women told police they were touched by Overkamp while giving him a haircut.

On Halloween, Overkamp was arrested and transported to the Troy Police Department. Overkamp initially denied any physical contact with any of the hair stylists but admitted to receiving haircuts from both women.

According to police, later during a police investigation, Overkamp admitted to touching the stylists on their legs and vaginas because he believed the contact was wanted by both women because they were rubbing against him while giving him a haircut.

Overkamp was charged with a sex crime in Calloway County in 2011 and is a registered sex offender residing in Moscow Mills, Mo.

Overkamp was charged on Wednesday with two counts of sexual abuse. His bond is set at $5,000 cash only.
