One person’s report of a bug flying into their mouth on their food has prompted the health department of an IHOP in Belleville.
A sign taped on the restaurant’s door says the restaurant is temporarily closed for repairs.
However, an investigation by the St. Clair County Health Department found a leak in the lobby blamed for attracting gnats.
A customer filed a complaint about the incident earlier in October.
News 4 has reached out to the restaurant’s owner and to IHOP’s corporate offices, but have yet to hear back.
It is unclear if or when the restaurant may re-open.
