ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Todd Beckman, who is accused of kidnapping and beating a man with three other suspects, entered a guilty plea on Thursday.

Beckman is the founder of Bam Brands, which owns businesses like Massage Luxe. Beckman and three other men were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a man in Maryland Heights and holding him for ransom.

Police said Beckman and others took the man to a house in Pacific, Missouri, where the victim was also beaten. Only after the victim's family paid $27,000 in ransom was he freed.

Police said the cause behind the kidnapping is over a drug debt.  In the plea, Beckman admitted the kidnapping began after a dealer stole $15,000 in cash and marijuana from him in 2016.

Beckman admitted to signing off on the kidnapping plan in which Beckman tied up the victim with zip ties and then put him in a shipping container in Fenton.

In exchange for pleading guilty, a pair of firearms charges were dropped.
