For their response to protests, the law enforcement officers of St. Charles County were recognized through a resolution from the county council.
The officers are being honored for responding to protests with a collaborative, professional manner that resulted in a peaceful outcome, Councilman Joe Brazil said.
"We are proud of these men and women who represent our county and have the utmost confidence in the work they do to keep all of us safe," Brazil said.
Protesters gathered in St. Charles County is response to the Jason Stockley verdict.
Mike Elam, the council char, said they want to let officers know they appreciate and respect the job they do.
"Not only during these times of unrest, but each and every day," Elam said.
