KESHENA, WI. (KMOV.com) -- It’s that time of year where parents are reminded to always check their kid's Halloween candy.

A Wisconsin mom is glad she did after her child went to a trick-or-treating event Sunday. When the mom checked in the bag, she found a small packet of white powder.

After turning it into police, officers confirmed it was meth.

Now police are warning parents to carefully check bags of candy that was collected in the area.

“We are asking parents to dispose of all the candy that was acquired yesterday during those hours, as well as the bags that the candy was given in," said Ben Warrington with the Menominee Indian Tribe.

Police are asking parents to call authorities if they find anything suspicious in the bags.

The change also gets rid of consumer protections, bars state laws that contradict the FCC's approach, and largely transfers oversight of internet service to another agency, the Federal Trade Commission.
