Police: Group of kids assaulted a woman, stole her purse on Cherokee Street

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

A woman was robbed by multiple suspects on Sunday. But police said the suspects could be as young as 10 years-old. 

Police said that on Oct. 29 around 6:00 p.m., a group of young suspects stole a woman's purse after attacking her. The theft happen on Cherokee Street, where people are found shopping and eating daily. 

When the 57 year-old victim exited her vehicle, police said five suspects between the ages of 10 and 15 demanded her purse. Then the suspects allegedly kicked the woman until her handle on the bag was broken. The women fell during the theft, police said. 

The purse was later found a block away, on Nebraska Avenue, but the woman's money and car keys were not inside. 

The investigation is ongoing.
