ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

You might get surprised around St. Louis city and county this month with puppies just showing up out of no where ready to be held and play with.

It's all thanks to Animal Protective Agency (APA) Adoption Center. Every day, starting Oct. 28th - Nov. 28th, they will be holding "Pop Up Puppy Play Dates" for anyone to enjoy.

The APA shelter is holding these pop up events to spread awareness about animal adoptions.

"We're bringing puppies to the people and hoping that people consider shelter pets whenever they're considering a new addition to their family," said Megan Grothman, adoption counselor for APA.

They kicked off their pop up event on Saturday in Chesterfield at the farmer's market and then Sunday in the Central West End in front of Coffee Cartel. APA says their locations will change each day, but it will always be somewhere that gets heavy foot traffic.

Grothman said it may not always be puppies they bring out to play.

"We'll bring kittens out, probably some adult dogs at some point," she said. "Right now we got 3 different litters of puppies, these guys aren't quite available yet but they will be available in the coming weeks."

"This was the best way to start my day," said Stacy Vasyuta, who enjoyed the puppies Sunday morning. "I'm glad that they're out here and in the community."

"My mood wet from 'Oh my gosh i have to study' to 'I get to cuddle a puppy!'" said Molly O’Dowd, a nursing student who took a study break to play with the puppies. "It was awesome."

To find out which location APA will be bringing animals to play with next, follow them on their social media pages: Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
