SOUTH ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -

The family of a man shot and killed in a double shooting in south St. Louis on Wednesday is demanding justice.

Gerald Alfred was shot and killed at a Shell gas station on south Grand Wednesday. Police say he was shot as a large group of people gathered in the parking lot before a fight broke out. Police said shots were then fired.

Authorities have identified two persons of interest in the shooting but no arrests have been made.

“I ultimately know this is not my brother’s fate. That is what I need, help trying to bring these guys to justice,” said Alfred’s sister Cynthia Alfred.

Cynthia said she urged her brother to move away from the city many years ago like she did.

“I begged him many times to leave St. Louis. I used to live here, I left 10 years ago because of the violence,” Cynthia said.

Earlier this week, Cynthia came face-to-face with that violence.

“I am attending a candlelight vigil for my little brother and they start shooting. Someone walks up and starts shooting, I am running for my life,” said Cynthia.

Cynthia says she has a message for those responsible for her brother’s death.

“You killed Big Boy (Gerald’s nickname) and you ultimately killed me too. He has two daughters who now have to grow up without a father,” Cynthia said.
