A St. Louis couple found their dream house on the HGTV show “House Hunters.”
Newlyweds Greg and Chyna Smith used to live in a Central West End apartment, but now that they are growing into a family of three, they want their home to grow with them.
“We wanted to switch up, start a family, so kind of slow things down and move to the suburbs,” said Chyna.
The two have always been avid viewers of HGTV and one night they got an idea.
“We were watching House Hunters one night and that commercial came on that was like ‘Do you want to be on House Hunters?’ So I was like ‘Yeah we do! We’re in the process of looking,” said Chyna.
Both Greg and Chyna had their deal breakers.
“Basically, I needed a nice backyard, I wanted a finished basement, a nice patio where I could cook outside,” said Greg.
“We wanted at least 3-4 bedrooms, 3-4 baths. I had to have a kitchen island, a nice sized kitchen, I mean the list goes on,” says Chyna.
The episode was filmed in April and the couple decided to buy their first home together.
They said their favorite part of the being on the show was the chance to show the country why they love living in St. Louis.
“Show this community is actually viable to live in and raise a family, especially with a lot of stuff going on in St. Louis. It’s good to bring some positivity back to the city,” said Greg.
The episode featuring Greg and Chyna Smith will air on Monday, October 30 at 9:00 p.m.
