ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A young boy has been reunited with his family after being dropped off at a private school in Bellefontaine Neighbors Friday morning.

The Bellefontaine Neighbors Police Department asked for help identifying the boy after he was dropped off at the Grace Lutheran school around 7:50 a.m. The boy does not attend Grace Lutheran, officials said.

News 4 was at the police department when the boy was reunited with his grandmother and aunts before 11 a.m. Police said the boy appeared to be in fine health and good spirits.

According to police, the boy was dropped off at the school by accident. They said the boy’s grandpa was taking him to school but accidentally dropped him off at the wrong school.

Police originally said the boy was dropped off by a woman with coiled braids who was driving a small red pick-up but later said that information was wrong and they were given a bad description from another parent at the school.
