COLORADO SPRINGS (KDVR/KRDO/CNN)  -- A 19-year-old is accused in the stabbing deaths of his two younger siblings in Colorado Springs, Colorado, before turning the knife on his father.

Police said Malik Murphy is charged with two counts of first-degree murder.

Early Tuesday, police found Sofia Murphy, 5, her seven-year-old brother Noah and their father Jefferson Murphy with stab wounds in their Colorado Springs home.

The Colorado Springs Police Department spent much of Tuesday morning interviewing family trying to piece together what happened. A police document revealed details from detectives' interviews with both the suspect and his father. Malik allegedly told police he often had "homicidal ideations" and planned to kill his family, then bury them in the backyard so he could be alone at the home.

KDVR-TV reports Jefferson Murphy told police that he woke up to one of his children screaming in the basement. He went to check and was confronted by Malik.

The 19-year-old and his younger siblings all slept in the same room. He told police he stabbed them both three times.
