ARNOLD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Several Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts across the country are banning National Football League (NFL) games from being played on their TVs. This follows many NFL players kneeling during the national anthem in protest against police brutality and racial inequality.

The only VFW in Eastern Missouri to officially ban the games is Post 2866 in St. Charles. However, other VFW's are discussing the option as we get further into the NFL season.

Monday night is the monthly post member's meeting for the Arnold VFW. They plan to talk with all members to see if they want to make a decision to ban NFL games while these player protests are happening. Right now, Post 2593 club manager, Jim Lorenz, said they've been leaving it up to individual members on who wants to watch NFL games or not.

"We'll put it on maybe one TV and we'll let them watch it on that, and watch whatever else on another channel," said Lorenz, who served 30 years with the U.S. Army. Personally, Lorenz wants these games banned. "I am totally against it. I have not watched an NFL game as of yet."

"I think it's disrespecting everybody who has fought for that flag," said Tom Laxton, Post 2593 bartender and U.S. Air Force veteran.

Laxton said since the NFL anthem protests have started this season, he's had to make a lot of channel changes.

"We have multiple TVs, so I try to keep everybody accommodated that way," said Laxton. "Even the Liberals that I know, the Democrats that I know, that are in here, the veterans and stuff, they're just appalled by it. Most of them have stopped watching it."

On this fall football Sunday, there was only NASCAR races being watched at Post 2593 in Arnold.

The Arnold VFW has already banned airing the NFL games on their TVs the weekend of Veteran's Day, which is November 11th.
