COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMOV.com) -
For the first time in more than five years, Mizzou and their biggest historical rival will be facing off on the basketball court.
Both men’s basketball programs have agreed to play in an exhibition game in Kansas City on October 22. The proceeds from the game, called the Showdown for Relief, will go towards hurricane relief efforts in the mainland United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The longtime rivals last played each other in 2012, Mizzou’s last season in the Big XII.
Both schools sought a waiver from the NCAA to play in the game.
