Hillsdale officer's car, guns stolen from police department parking lot

HILLSDALE, Mo. (KMOV.com) – An officer’s personal car was stolen from the Hillsdale Police Department’s parking lot early Thursday morning.

The officer’s car was stolen just before 6 a.m. St. Louis County Police officials said a shotgun, two pistols, armor and a badge belonging to the officer were inside the vehicle when it was stolen.

The officer was on duty at the time of the theft. Police said he had just returned from certification on a range and came right to work to start an overnight shift.

The dark gray 2014 Jeep Patriot that has Purple Heart Missouri license plates was later found, but the stolen items are still missing.

Anyone with information regarding the theft is urged to contact St. Louis County Police.
