RICHMOND HEIGHTS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- A would-be burglar of a Richmond Heights business was captured by police after failing to realize the owner of the shop was still there.

39-year-old Pierre Briscoe, a former employee of Hank’s Cheesecake on South Big Bend Boulevard, broke into the business after hours Tuesday.

Briscoe didn’t know the owner was still inside.

The owner called the police and then confronted Briscoe, who demanded money. The police showed up shortly after and arrested him.

He is charged with first degree burglary and is being held on $20,000 bond.
