Suspect killed by accomplice after ransacking home in Fenton, police say

FENTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) – A man was shot and killed by an accomplice after ransacking a home in Fenton early Wednesday morning, according to the Major Case Squad of Greater St. Louis.

Now, two men have been arrested and charged. 

Courtney Brown, 36, and Paris-John Devine, 24, have been charged with Second Degree Murder. Brown faces additional charges of Second Degree Armed Criminal Action, while Devine faces another charge of Second Degree Burglary. 

Brown is held on $100,000 bond. Devine is held on $50,000 bond. Both bonds are cash-only. 

Thomas Ramone, 26, was ransacking a home in the 700 block of Chancellor Lane with three other suspects when the homeowner returned around 4:15 a.m., officials said. While the group was leaving the residence, one of the suspects fired a shot, which struck Ramone.

Ramone was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead following the shooting.

The Major Case Squad was called in to investigate around 7:13 a.m. Wednesday. During their investigation, they identified six suspects believed to be involved in the burglary. Two suspects were found by police during the early morning hours Wednesday. A third suspect was found in the area around 2:40 p.m. Wednesday. Immediately following the shooting, two women left the area in the car. One of the women was later taken into custody.

As of Thursday morning, a warrant has only been issued against one suspect, Raymond Seay, for second-degree murder and second-degree burglary. His cash-only bond has been set at $50,000.

The homeowner was not injured during the burglary or shooting.
