ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) -- The Gateway City was well-represented at the Great American Beer Festival, and three local breweries took home some hardware.

Schlafly Beer, Perennial Artisan Ales from St. Louis and Side Project Brewing from Maplewood all medaled at the three-day event, which involves 96 beer categories and features an international panel of 276 expert judges.

Schlafly earned a silver medal for its Pumpkin Ale, and Perennial’s Maman 2017 won silver in the wood and barrel-aged strong stout category. Perennial also took bronze in the Belgian/French style ale competition with its Working Title, and was the only multi-medal winner from the area.

Side Project Brewing’s Blended 2017 won silver in the Belgian Lambic/Sour competition.

The Great American Beer Festival was held October 5-7 in Denver and featured more than 800 breweries.
