ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

St. Louis City Mayor Lyda Krewson said she is not able to offer any details at this point about what the state will be offering in its proposal to Amazon.

Both St. Louis and Kansas City are going to submit proposals to Amazon to become the home of the company's second headquarters. Cities nationwide are competing to land the potential $5 billion headquarters.

Missouri Governor Eric Greitens was not available for questions about the state's proposal.

At a downtown luncheon Friday, economist James Bullard presented research that showed St. Louis' overall high standard of living and relatively low costs. He declined to comment on what he would say to Amazon to present St. Louis as an attractive candidate for the company's second headquarters.

About 50 cities in the US and Canada are competing for Amazon's second headquarters. Besides the usual tax breaks, some cities are getting creative. A city in Georgia said it would de-annex some of its land and name it the city of Amazon.
