Widespread Spectrum outages are being reported across the country, including in the St. Louis area.

According to the site downdetector.com, outages are being reported in many parts of the country, including Los Angeles, Minneapolis, Chicago, Detroit, Atlanta, New York and Boston.

However, a map on the site shows large outages in St. Louis and Dallas.

Spectrum was formerly known as Charter.

A spokesperson said the outage was caused by two different incidents. The company said a non-company construction crew severed a fiber optic line in St. Charles County.

The company also said there was an unrelated incident in the afternoon in St. Louis County and work is being done to resolve the situation.

A spokesperson said they hope to have the issues resolved quickly.

Other information was not immediately known.
