Man charged with first-degree murder for North County homicide

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. (KMOV.com) – The St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office has charged a man with murder following a North County homicide in October.

Lopez Watson-Simms, 19, of St. Louis, is charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of first-degree assault, one count of first-degree burglary and three counts of armed criminal action.

Watson-Simms is being held without a bond.

The homicide happened Oct. 4, 2017. Police said three masked men entered a home and shot and killed Carlos Morris, 37.

A 14-year-old was also shot and suffered serious injuries.

Video surveillance captured the three masked intruders, showing them entering and leaving the home in a matter of seconds, during which time numerous shots were fired.

Police said Watson-Simms was identified through evidence left at the scene.
