CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Preschoolers in the Parkway Early Childhood Program are enjoying a new playground.

The playground at the Early Childhood Center was recently dedicated in honor of June Jesse. She died in 2016 at age 3 from multiple medical complications.

She was a student in the Early Childhood Program for just a few months.

The playground is handicapped-accessible, with special modifications to allow special needs children, like June, the chance to play like other children.

Jesse’s family donated the money for a special swing, which has extra support for children who have trouble holding themselves up.

The swing is pink because it was June’s favorite color. The rest of the funding for the playground came from a state grant.
