Police searching for missing Belleville man with dementia

BELLEVILLE, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Authorities are searching for an elderly Belleville man with dementia who has been missing since Thursday morning.

Max Edwards, 75, was reported missing around 11:00 a.m. from his home on Old Collinsville Road in Belleville.

The St. Clair County Sheriff says he left his home in a green Pontiac Grand Am with Illinois license plate number YFJ-800.

He suffers from dementia and diabetes, police say he may have gotten lost while driving. Police have tracked his phone to the Mount Vernon and Red Lake area.

He is described as a white man with blue eyes and heavy build. He is 5’8” and weighs 220 pounds.
