People travel to St. Louis area from far and wide to see eclipse

(KMOV.com) - People from all over the United States and the world flocked to the St. Louis are Monday to watch a total solar eclipse.

Some eclipse enthusiasts traveled from South America, Europe, and Asia.

The path totality covered an area from St. Charles County through Franklin County and Jefferson County, and into southern Illinois. It was the first total solar eclipse in the St. Louis area since 1442.

Some eclipse enthusiasts even got to watch the total eclipse from a plane or on a boat in the Mississippi River.
