WASHINGTON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

The wheels for Eclipse 2017 are already in motion.

"We are going to sit here watch and watch the beauty of it," said Bret Skrukrud.

Skrukrud plans to get the best view of the eclipse in Washington.

Washington city leaders not only hope the solar eclipse will attract eyeballs, but also business.

"I've been here eight years and customers really want something new all the time," said Judith Huntley.

'Moonlight Madness' took over day two of the city's three-day eclipse event.

"Washington is a nice town on the river. It's a beautiful place to come. People are wonderful. It's a short trip for us," said Stephen Paur.

Businesses stayed open later and vendors sold the perfect items.

"Of course, the solar eclipse is a big deal. I looked for earrings and decided to make them up," added Huntley.

Veronica Paur did not have to look far for the right souvenir.

"I love jewelry and this was right up my alley. I love silver jewelry. It was perfect," said Paur.

Nathan Smith did not buy anything, but has a reason to look around Washington's Main Street even if no one else does.

"I get to brag about it to the people who did not get to see it," said Smith.
