ST. CLAIR, Mo. (KMOV.com) -

Hundreds lined the streets of St Clair on Friday night to view dozens of cars, trucks and floats in the city's eclipse parade.

The small town parade stretched for miles.

"You know community pride is one of those things that seems not as important in America right now," said St. Clair City Administrator Travis. "I am just excited to see this community come together."

Alicia Berger agrees. She did not let anything keep her from the celebration.

"I am really pumped. It is really exciting for me having never seen an eclipse," said Berger.

St. Clair's Parks and Recreation Department sponsored the parade giving a nod to the sun.

Churches reminded parade-goers there is a son no one can eclipse.

"We just want to get the gospel out to the community, get God's word out to them and put a bible in every hand that we can," said Kory Bethel of Liberty Baptist Church.

A number of well-known patriotic groups participated to send another message.

"We are trying to make it more about the veterans. Veteran's awareness. Homeless veterans. Veterans looking for work. That's what we are trying to get across with as far as what we are doing," said James Myers.
