ELLIS GROVE, Ill. (KMOV.com) - On Monday, a small town of just about 350 people is about to balloon into a town of thousands as dozens prepare for the big eclipse crowds.

Ellis Grove has three businesses including a body shop, a beauty shop, and Taylor’s Treasures.

Amanda Taylor and her husband run the re-sale shop they say perhaps upwards of 50,000 people will be flooding the area of the eclipse.

“I don’t know where we’re putting them all. I’m excited and nervous at the same time,” said Taylor.

Ellis Grove is surrounded by farmer’s fields. There’s only a two-lane highway in and out of town.

Linda Butler is the Village Clerk and says she is making sure someone will be manning the volunteer Fire Department on the edge of town.

“We actually have police, part-time police and if we need to call them out, why I will call them out,” said Butler.
