Jefferson Barracks to host big eclipse party

SOUTH ST. LOUIS COUNTY (KMOV.com) -

One of the largest eclipse viewing parties in the St. Louis area will be held at Jefferson Barracks in South County.

According to maps, the total eclipse will last around 1:33 at Jefferson Barracks.

Organizers are expecting a crown of 5,000 – 10,000 people. Gates open at 9:00 a.m. and eight food trucks will be on hand.

St. Louis County sold 12,000 eclipse glasses and will be giving away 1,000 on eclipse day. There will also be a band playing and the Postal service will unveil the commutative eclipse stamp at 11:00 a.m.

St. Louis County Executive will be singing the national anthem.
