SHILOH, Ill. (KMOV.com) -

Stealing and wrecking golf carts has now gotten out of hand at one Metro East golf course.

As many as 10 carts have been damaged or abandoned around town in the last two months at the Shiloh Yorktown Golf Course.

"They're up in the many thousands of dollars in damage." says Scott Barkhaus who manages the course.

Shiloh Police responded to the course for the theft of the gold carts on Aug 12, just before 7:00 a.m. Golf carts were stolen the same night from the Clinton Hills Golf course, as well, the department said.

The latest incident happened this past weekend when three carts were left damage on the driving range.

Police said the suspects were a group of men ages 16-to-21, and they are believed to be living in proximity to the Yorktown course.

News 4 has learned this is the fourth time carts have been stolen, with some reports of theft dating back to March.

The Village of Shiloh is offering a reward of $1,000 for the first course that provides information leading to the suspects' arrests.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Shiloh Police Department at 618-632-9047.
