ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – For the next three weeks the Illinois State Police Department will be conducting "school zone patrols."

The goal of the campaign is to gain voluntary compliance from motorists driving through school zones when students are present.

Officials said drivers should put away their mobile devices so they are not distracted while driving. They also warn that school buses have cameras and that video will be turned over to police if someone runs a school bus stop arm.
